This & That Including What Ails

Bird Nest Fern

on December 20, 2016

Whilst out walking today, I stopped to admire this tree as it had a huge bird nest fern growing at the base of the tree trunk.

Bird Nest Fern is known as a parasitic plant and transfers through spores on the underside of the large fronds.

Another species of fern is growing adjacent to this Bird Nest Fern.

It is called a Bird Nest Fern as it resembles a bird nest.

I find it soothing to be out on a leisurely walk and to stop under the shade of this big tree to just see this lovely fern.

Walking back, I never realised that there was this big canal.

Complete with orange life savers dangled across the breadth of the canal. How odd!

Perhaps there are swimmers?

Anyway tick tock tick tock…I await with tension, my meeting with the “Holy” people….

Fingers and toes crossed for a good outcome tonight!

  1. That fern is impressive, and it’s nice to see them growing wild…I’ve only ever seen them as houseplants here.
