This & That Including What Ails

Dr Ass

on February 9, 2017

Today has been a big scare for me.

My trip with my dad to his doctor’s appointment showed that he may have had a possible mild stroke.

As for when, we don’t know. The idiotic doctor was an arrogant ass as he belonged to a hospital cluster that did not fall within my dad’s usual group of medical care.

Bureaucracy arose and to me, I felt this Dr Ass suffered from phone paralysis.

He refused to speak to my dad’s surgeon and instead asked us to “sort it out ourselves” and bring his letter manually to my father’s doctor in the other hospital.

Dr Ass did not understand that generally people can take aspirin to thin blood for better heart health. By now he was a moron in my books.

The next statement he made was an even more sweeping one that slapped all doctors at the polyclinics – he said that “those doctors do not know how to read MRI!”

At this point he elevated to my richter scale of an arrogant ass!

(This was when I asked for a copy of the brain MRI to ask the doctor at the polyclinic that provided my dad with primary health care for follow up care and hypertension)

So, I rushed across the island to have my dad sorted out and did the task of sacking this Dr Ass!

Dr Ass failed in empathy as well as his hippocratic oath was a falsehood.

He should not have sent me and my father across the island seeking medical assistance on our own.

I will now take him to task and make sure he does not ever repeat such an act to any senior citizen. It is just not right!

  1. What an idiotic doctor…

I generally respect doctors. In facts, it’s one of the professions that I respect the most. However, there are numbskulls in whatever types of profession…

I hope that you would be able to sort this out very soon.

  2. Oh, just a few days ago, I had to accompany my grandmother, who’s 99 yo, to the hospital. Her blood pressure was 190/110 so I expected thT they would put her to the emergency room immediately (considering that we called an ambulance). However, the doctor said that they have to perform some “tests” first. It tool them 5 hours before they finished them. Afterwards, they checked her BP again and it’s 140/80 which is acceptable. It’s just fortunate that her BP dropped on its own…

Those doctors performed their hippocratic oaths hypocritically.

Sorry to hear that about your grandma. I am glad her bp normalised. I just feel that some docs are not prepared for what we call the “silver tsunami” – they ought to brush up their patient centric skills for seniors.

For me, a bad experience in the healthcare system can leave me feeling extremely frustrated and disappointed. There are certainly good doctors and there are lesser ones. Boo! Hiss! To the experiences you encountered. Stay strong and remain in control. I feel that the care component is diminishing in healthcare. I hope that you can foster the element of care yourself – I know you can and ultimately things will work out, but it should never have to be this difficult. Grrrr! Harlon

Thanks for your voice Harlon and weighing in. I booted this doctor. Thank goodness in my lil red dot we have many other good docs with heart, empathy and are patient centric. Dr Ass is just a moron and for my father’s good mental health, I had to sack Dr Ass. Useless bugger! You stay strong too😀 to stand up to morons in health careπŸ˜‰

And I thought that that this post was going to be about an anatomical specialist. πŸ˜‰

  5. Oh no 😦 I hope your dad is feeling better and you have some decent medical care for him. How DARE that awful doctor jeopardise a patient like that. Disgusting. It makes me sad and mad, actually, considering my mother used to be a nurse…it’s just a business now.
Sending hugs and healing thoughts xoxo

I’m sorry to hear about your experience but you’re also not alone. I refer to my doctor as Dr. Dipshit.

    • Garfield Hug says:

Hello and thank you for sharing. Looks like in any country, there is an equal moronic doctor. Ha ha…Dr Dipshit…good name you alloted him/her. Hope all is good at your end. Blessings and Garfield hugs 😊

Sadly I have worked with too many doctors like this! We need to be well informed and assertive to ensure that we and our loved ones get viable care.

My mother has lost faith in her GP and now puts up with massive pain rather than attend his clinic … so sad for our elderly. Glad you can and will follow through.
