Too Pretty To Eat, But Yummy To Last Morsel

on July 3, 2017

I had a lovely lunch with Mr Ability To Earn on Sunday.

I suggested we feast on dim sums at Tung Lok’s Irish Duck Restaurant at Turf City as it has been a while since I enjoyed “Phoenix Claws” (*fancy name for stewed chicken feet).

We ordered the usual, roast pork buns (*char siew bao), carrot cake (*flat pan fried shredded white radishes blended with glutinous rice flour), pot stickers, fish skin deep fried with salted egg yolk, a side of stir fried button mushrooms with garlic and herbs.

Dessert photos taken as these were pretty and yet delicious. It was both a feast for eyes and tummy.

Above

Osmanthus jelly with fresh fruits served in a young coconut. I like clear, sugarless desserts. This is my favorite. Light and easy to enjoy against the heat of the weather!

Below:

right serving shows pomelo compote with ice cream served in young coconut.

Mr Ability To Earn loves ice cream and he had the ice cream one.

Below: It looks like mushrooms, even when turned over as shown in photo after this.

As I bit into it, it was bread filled with mushrooms and pork.

I was misled into thinking it was indeed a giant shitake mushroom. Good job chef for fooling me ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘
