This & That Including What Ails

Taoist Temple Festivity

on July 17, 2017

Birdman is a taoist and he will annually give thanks at this temple, as this deity has blessed his son.

Birdman’s son is diagnosed as autistic.

His world fell apart.

But with the blessing of this temple’s divine intervention, his son’s condition has slightly improved to the point that he could be schooled with normal children.

Hence, annually at the feast day of this temple deity, Birdman would partake in the prayers and offerings as his way of thanking the Gods.

Above photo show devotees’ offerings apportioned for prayers. What this means is that after prayers, each devotee takes back their respective share paid.

In our local practice, when a temple that worshippers go for petitions are “answered” – it means it is very “leng” or auspicious as the temple answers prayers!

So, many will flock to this sacred ground to offer and pray for their personal petitions and give thanks after.

Believe it or not? I tend to believe as these temple deities do bless and answer prayers as I tried it once and my prayer was indeed answered.

how fascinating, huge and popular .. who eats all that food? Thanks for sharing GH πŸ™‚

After the “gods and deities” have virtually supped, the apportioned offerings are taken back by those who put in a share to buy a portion whilst the common roast meats are chopped and all present are invited to eat. Devotees can also take home whatever they need or want.☺
