My Posts With Memes May Have Been Erased Accidentally!! Sob!!

on August 12, 2017

Dear WordPress Readers,

I may have accidentally deleted the photos of posts that I have previously posted – Aaargh!!! My storage space for this website seemed like very low and I thought it was harmless to delete the media files.

But it seems that the posts may have removed the humorous pictures.

I do apologize for this and will see how best to recover the files, if not, then I will post new ones.

Sad boo hoo! Anyway, I thought to share and let you know in case you thought harmless housekeeping of media files will not impact posts! They do!!

Garfield Hugs!!! And do not do what I did ;-(

  1. Sorry to hear that.

Accidents like this happens all the time. I remembered that my college days, I accidentally deleted a large bunch of client files when I was doing a part time job at an office. For some reason, those files didn’t go to the recycle bin. So, I had to do some ‘fixing” to make it appear that the PC crashed on its own…

Do you have a backup? If you don’t, I think that you are better off just posting new ones.

You are so cute!! “Fixing” to look like system crashed ha ha! Ya…better off posting new ones ha ha! Thanks Edmark for making me laugh to lighten my mood of being a twit! πŸ˜ƒ

      • And it turned out that they didn’t have a backup of those files. I was like, “What the heck!” It’s hard to imagine that nobody ever thought of backing up those important files.

Ooooh…that is bad! For work I personally back up my drafts and final copies as too much work to recreate. For blog on wp….it is ok as not life or death….my ink will flow for more words or ermm tappity tap tap keyboard on android or laptop ha ha!😊Good grief if they knew you were the little imp…πŸ˜‰

          • I wouldn’t have backed up their files, that’s for sure. I didn’t even remember what my role there was lol. The ones who made those files should have their own backups.

For my personal files, I keep at least 5 to 10 backups, depending on how important those files are πŸ˜€

For WP, I only have backups of my writings but not photos. Heh, as if I have any important photos on WP anyway… πŸ™‚

Lol! You really are cute!! But it is the truth…especially for documents pertinent. I keep hard copies too. If all else fails aha I fall back on old fashioned hard copies for certificates, letters etc. I am paranoid as these are important😊

              • Now that you mentioned hard copies…

The deleted files actually did have hard copies. However, the day before the “incident”, we didn’t have anything to do. So the manager, through his wisdom, decided to give us some work. He ordered us to shred some documents since “we have electronic copies of them”. Then Murphy’s law struck like clockwork the very next day πŸ˜€

                A real “adventure” – πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

lol, I could have told you this as I did something similar a few weeks ago but mine were photos with poems. Poems can stand alone, but once deleted from media file they do vanish 😦 you will find many more I’m sure πŸ™‚

You’re in good company – I did that once, too! πŸ™„πŸŽ¬πŸ™„

Never having head of the word “clux” which calmkate and you used above, I thought you two meant KLUTZ, from the German “klotz,” meaning bonehead (no offence intended — haha). Then I Googled “clux” and found that it means “chickenhead.” So I apologize for thinking of either of you as boneheads! πŸ™‚

    • Garfield Hug says:

Haha! Boneheads….chickenheads…a rose in any other name is still but a rose! I am sure we are all “a type of “head” at one point or other!” Thanks for the definition clarifications. Now I know the origin of klutz as we use it here for someone who drops things, break things or trips all the time…a careless twit of sorts! Aussie language I am learning from Calmkate as the other day (*just to share) in lil red dot and in USA we use “trust me” spelt TRUST me verbatim. But I guess Aussies meant it as “THRUST” Me….aaahhh then it becomes a bad bad word as in *F word! Language can cause misunderstandings and that is why I find ENGGERRISH so fascinating ha ha!☺

Yes…I’ve done it too! I do, however, add pictures and writing separately, always saving copies on a memory stick, as taught by my son!

  6. What do you mean? Sorry I’m New too. U mean delete media files or a post will delete the entire post?

  7. Edward Tan says:

I encountered the same experience before but fortunately I have saved my images in a hard disk. Sorry to hear that…
